A spot of tea to recharge our batteries for more antique shopping.

After Katie found the perfect antique desk and chair and we had it all loaded up, we decided we needed to recharge our batteries before hitting even more antique shops.

We found a local tea room that served the most delicious apricot iced tea and scrumptious sandwiches. Unfortunately the customer service left a lot to be desired which could have potentially ruined the experience for us. Fortunately for us we had good company and had fun despite the poor service.

Some serious antiquing and sewing at the Make Mine Pink mini-retreat.

Katie got one of the best buys while out hunting for antiques on Wednesday afternoon. She picked up an antique white wicker chair and desk. The chair needed a little work, but with the help of Sharon and Carol, a slipcover re-do turned this chair into a charming addition to Katie's home. Ohh to be surrounded by so much talent!

MMP mini retreat on Cape Cod... another charming find.

Yesterday some of the girls headed to Martha's Vineyard and some of us to this quaint bookstore. After ooohing and aaahing and taking pics for ten minutes, we found it was closed! Hopefully we'll catch them open some time this week.

I feel almost guilty saying I'm on a working vacation when I get to be surrounded by all of this beauty. I wouldn't blame you if you didn't believe that I have been doing some work..ok a LITTLE work. But I do plan to settle down and spend a few hours a day working. Soon...

On the road again..Make Mine Pink retreat.

By now some of you know that I am on my annual working vacation on Cape Cod. Each year I come here for a little R&R, a little inspiration, a little time with some of my family and a little time with some of my friends from Make Mine Pink. Sure, I'll be working part of each day, but it won't feel much like work. The house is beautiful and the view from the decks, gorgeous. I have my computers set up so that I am overlooking the bay and I feel like I don't have a care in the world.

This is the view from my lower deck while having my morning coffee. Today is dark and overcast. The perfect day to explore the Cape. When my work is done, I'm heading out for a few hours of fun.

As I write this post, the storm is rolling in fast! I couldn't believe how quickly it became so dark and ominous. 

I'll be back as often as I can, sharing my explorations with you. Have a great day.

Make Mine Pink Cape Cod Mini Retreat - a Beautiful Remembrance

About a week ago I received a small package in the mail from Kim at RoseblossomCottageDesigns. Kim was one of the attendees of the MMP 2008 retreat.  
To ensure that everyone would have a beautiful reminder of their time at Cape Cod, Kim created these magnificent seas shell charms made from shells gathered on the beach where we stayed. My beatifil shell charm has an additional pink stone with my initials engraved on the back side of it and as if that wasn't enough, have a look at the engraving on the back of the shell!

Thank you dear Kim for Making a memorable trip even more memorable!

Make Mine Pink

We're Back From The Make Mine Mini Retreat. We had a Blast!

We had so much fun at the Make Mine Pink Mini Retreat on Cape Cod. Even though we had less than perfect weather, we had a blast!
The first group activity on the schedule for Monday was the "Inner Child - workshop." I'm pretty sure that no one knew what to expect!
Everyone grabbed a pair of flip flops, a beach towel and headed to the beach to await further instructions.

The next few photos will show how excited the girls were about the upcoming "Inner Child" Workshop! Pictures don't lie!

Lets just say that no one was quite ready for what we had planned next, but all were good sports! Some of the girls didn't skip a beat. They jumped right in and and let their inner child out!
